Connecting Between Newark and LaGuardia
LaGuardia is the closer of the two New York airports to Newark by road, but the drive is not proportionally quicker, because the route has to cross both the Hudson and then either Manhattan or the Bronx. Twenty-four to thirty-three miles is genuinely forty to seventy minutes.
Most people booking this transfer are connecting between separately ticketed flights, dealing with a rebooking, or travelling on an itinerary that arrives at one airport and departs from the other. The common factor is that the timing is not flexible.
LaGuardia completed a full terminal rebuild in recent years, and the approach roads and terminal assignments changed substantially as part of it. Tell us your airline when you book and we will confirm the current terminal rather than relying on where it used to be.
Routing Between the Two Airports
The usual route runs north on the Turnpike, crosses the George Washington Bridge, takes the Cross Bronx Expressway east, and enters Queens over the Triborough Bridge, arriving at LaGuardia from the north. This avoids Manhattan surface traffic entirely.
The alternative goes through the Lincoln Tunnel and across Manhattan to the Queensboro Bridge or the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, then along the Grand Central Parkway. This can be faster in the late evening and on quiet weekend mornings.
The Cross Bronx Expressway is the single least predictable stretch on this route and is a well-known bottleneck. Your chauffeur will route around it when conditions warrant, and we build a realistic allowance into the pickup time rather than assuming a clear run.
Tolls and charges on this route
This transfer crosses the Hudson either through a tunnel and across Manhattan, or over the George Washington Bridge and through the Bronx. Port Authority tolls apply on the Hudson crossing, and MTA tolls apply on the Triborough where that routing is used. Routes crossing Manhattan below 60th Street also incur the per-trip congestion charge. Your flat rate does not change based on which route is taken.

Choosing a Vehicle for This Route
The same guidance applies as on any airport-to-airport transfer. An executive sedan is fine for one or two passengers with normal luggage, but if you are moving a full trip's worth of bags between airports, a full-size SUV is the easier vehicle. Groups connecting together should book a Sprinter van so the whole party arrives and checks in at once.
See the Full FleetWhy Book This Transfer in Advance
Your vehicle is assigned before you land.
A reserved car does not depend on how many drivers happen to be near the terminal when you clear baggage claim, and it does not reprice itself because your flight arrived during a busy hour.
The rate is fixed when you book.
You approve a flat rate in advance. Traffic, delays and the day of the week do not change it afterwards.
We track the flight, not the schedule.
Early landings and delays are adjusted automatically. You do not need to contact us from the jet bridge.
